Meet Our Team
Cynthia McInnis
Clinic Director | PT | DPT | CEEAA | TDN
Cynthia was born in Tennessee, but raised in Dothan, AL where she graduated from Northview High School in 2016. She was a competitive gymnast for a few years, but later transitioned to playing high school and travel volleyball. Her passion for physical therapy started after a knee injury. In high school, she received early acceptance to the DPT program at the University of South Alabama where she also graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science. During PT school, she was inducted into Alpha Eta, a prestigious honor society for healthcare professionals. She was also the recipient of the Excellence in Musculoskeletal Coursework Award. She graduated with her Doctorate in Physical Therapy in May of 2023.
In 2014, Cynthia met her husband at the Hugh O’Brian Youth Leadership Conference and they got married 8 years later in July 2022! Cynthia enjoys watching hockey (Go Caps!), trying new restaurants, spending time with her dog, Hank, and exercising her body and mind as a runner and avid bookworm.
Samantha Phillips
PT | DPT
Sam was born and raised in Augusta, GA where she attended Davidson Fine Arts Magnet School and graduated with a Letter in the Arts in Dance. She pursued her B.S. in Exercise Science with cognates in Nutrition and Strength & Conditioning and a minor in Dance from the University of South Carolina Honors College. While there, she initiated the proposal for implementing a strength and conditioning program for collegiate dancers in the UofSC dance program which has since become well developed. Sam has an extensive background in performance and theater based dance with training in Ballet, Modern, Contemporary, Tap/Jazz, Hip Hop, and various other styles.
After graduating Magna Cum Laude from UofSC, Sam pursued her Doctorate of Physical Therapy from the UofSC graduate school, where she continued to be a part of the local dance community and Dance Science club, as well as a teaching assistant for Physical Therapy and Anatomy courses. Sam’s passion for understanding strength and conditioning also motivated her to begin competing in powerlifting on the local and state level, where she currently holds multiple SC and GA state records.
Outside the clinic, she enjoys lifting, running, hiking, traveling, musicals and movies, taking dance classes, watching sunsets, and spending time with her cat.
